The ultimate fire safety blanket, made of 100% Kevlar fibers. Unlike duvetyne, it doesn't rely on chemical treatments that can wash off in water. You can wash it, reuse it, and it holds up to direct flames for a long time before degrading.
Size: 50 cm × 70 cm. Big enough to extinguish most fire props, small enough to stay affordable. Pure aramid fabric is extremely expensive, so we're starting with this compact version. A larger model is in the works, but it will cost more.
As fire prop makers, safety is one of our top priorities. We spent the last year testing fabrics, and most so-called fire retardants were disappointing: blended with cheaper materials, unreliable coatings, the works. We finally found a solid source of pure aramid (Kevlar is just a brand name for this fiber), and teamed up with a professional sewing crew to get the finishing right.
I personally replaced all my cotton safety blankets for my shows with these, and I'm super happy with it.

This blanket, despite being the most fire-resistant option possible, is not fireproof. It's important to understand the difference. Any material, even aramid, will degrade if a flame stays on it long enough. We tested it up to 30 seconds, which is way more than enough for any real situation. But it won't survive a full minute of direct contact with fire without degrading.
