Kevlar Static Rope
Static Kevlar rope for DIY your fire poi, by the meter. Stiff in the air, easy in your hands. The original, invented by Juggling Calling.
Sold by the meter
Imagine a rope that stays rigid in the air, super responsive on stalls and direction changes, and still leaves you a bit of flexibility for everything else. That's the feeling we've been chasing from the start, and it's why we developed this rope.
We invented fire poi with a static rope in 2020. Since then, many shops and manufacturers have picked up the idea, and it has become a standard. But we are the only ones who have a 10 mm Static Kevlar rope specially made for fire juggling. Supporting us means supporting the creators of a globally recognized concept, not those who copied it while overlooking the essential technical details.
We now sell our Static Kevlar by the meter for anyone who wants to build their own gear with top-tier quality.
How is it used?
Heads up: this rope is made to be the leash of your fire poi, not the wick. It's used only in no hardware, meaning the wick is built directly around the Static Kevlar rope, with no metal ring or other classic attachment method. Got questions about attachment? Contact us, we're happy to help.
Kevlar, Technora, continuous filament: what's the difference?
Kevlar is an industrial fiber, the one in bulletproof vests and boat hulls. Our rope uses continuous filament, nothing like the Kevlar yarn of a standard wick, which soaks up fuel well but can't handle a load. This rope is built to hold, and it can pull your car without flinching.
Technora and Kevlar are two brand names for para-aramid fibers with nearly identical thermal and mechanical properties. What really changes from one rope to another is the construction.
This 10 mm Static Kevlar rope is braided custom for fire poi. To our knowledge, it's the only Static Kevlar rope on the market designed specifically for that purpose, and we're pretty proud of it. It won't make you coffee, but it does everything else.
