Lycopodium Torch

Lycopodium Torch

Lycopodium fire torch for spectacular fireball effects on stage. 50 cm, 22mm aluminium 7075-T6. Built for fire performance artists. 65 €.

Our Lycopodium Torch is designed for providing a powerful flame effect

Sold per unit

Our lycopodium torch projects a cloud of lycopodium powder through the flame to produce an instant, spectacular fireball. Total length: 50 cm. Tube: aluminum 7075-T6, 22 mm diameter.

This torch features a hollow tube made to hold lycopodium powder (or Siam Flash Powder, available on our store). When spinning, the powder ignites and creates a large visual flame. A 5 cm dowel is installed at the end of the tube. It keeps the powder inside while allowing easy refilling.

Perfect for performers looking for a reliable, professional lycopodium torch to create flame trails on stage.

To prepare it

Soak the Kevlar wick with fuel (white gas or paraffin based)

Fill the tube with powder only when the wick stopped leaking fuel

Keep the torch upright to avoid spilling

Spin fast with the flame pointing outward to trigger the effect

Tips

Use a funnel or pipette for clean filling

Keep the torch upright until spinning

Powder not included, sold separately

Can be used without powder for standard flame effects

Safety

Watch wind direction and stay at least 10 meters from the audience

Keep safety gear nearby: extinguisher and wet cloth or Kevlar blanket

Fire Safety

Soak 90% of the head, let the rest absorb naturally. Never soak longer than 2–3 seconds. If fuel drips from the wick, it's already too much. Even on the first burn.

Never let the staff torch in place for more than 10-15 seconds. It could degrade the silicone, which can absorb the heat when the torche is moving.

Use a plastic glove to squish the wicks with your hands to remove the excess of fuel.

Never perform with fire alone: a dedicated safety assistant and a ready-to-use fire blanket are non-negotiable.
