It can be harsh on sensitive skin and slippery in high humidity, and will add more weight in the middle of your staff, we don't recommend it for our 90 cm double staffs as it can mess up the balance.

We use it to cover exposed metal near the flames, it is a key safety element. Touching hot metal by mistake won't be happening anymore with this special silicone. We use it on all our fire staffs. One of the golden safety rules of making fire props: as little exposed metal as possible. It can handle fire as long as it keeps moving. Leave it burning on the ground for more than 10 seconds and it will degrade quickly. In motion, heat dissipates better and the silicone can last many years.
