Velvet grip is the soft one. Where most grips give you that plastic, slightly rubbery texture under the fingers, this one feels like suede: smooth, warm, elegant visually. It's the grip you reach for when you care about how the prop feels in the hand and if you like a staff that can slide, not only about how hard it grips.
On the grip scale, velvet grip sits on the gentle end. It holds a bit less than Oscar, and a lot less than Goat. So if you want a staff that clamps onto your skin for heavy contact, this isn't the one. If you want something that grips just enough while staying soft, that's exactly what velvet grip gives you.
One velvet grip is 210 cm long, enough to cover a pair of double staffs, or one contact staff.
Sizing
On a 16 mm tube, it wraps around 115 cm.
On a 19 mm tube, it wraps around 90 cm.
It's self-adhesive, so putting it on is about as hard as sticking a sticker. Clean the tube, peel the backing, wrap it firm with NO overlap. When it's worn out, you peel it off and wrap a fresh one.
A quick honest note, since we sell fire gear: this grip, like the others, is not fire resistant, it has to stay away from your wicks (at least 15 cm).
